Healthy WHOLESOME Banana Bread Recipe

Are you on the lookout for healthy snack ideas for the kids? This delicious banana bread will keep your kids satisfied and won’t leave them coming down from a sugar high! In my house, my kids love this banana bread recipe and my son often asks for it after kinder. It’s filled with wholesome ingredients!

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt

  • 1 tsp vanilla powder or extract

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas about 2-3 medium bananas

  • 1 3/4 cups white spelt flour

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon optional

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped walnuts (optional).

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 180c. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and set aside.

  • Whisk the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.

  • In a large bowl, beat eggs, oil, honey, greek yogurt and vanilla for 2 minutes. Stir in the bananas, flour mixture and chocolate chips.

  • Pour batter into greased pan, sprinkle with some more cinnamon, coconut sugar, or banana slices (optional) Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes, slice and enjoy!
